Development Block Grant
The
Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program serves all
the counties in North Carolina. It is designed to give assistance
by rehabilitating or replacing homes owned by elderly and
disabled citizens. It is important to note that one must be
a homeowner and meet low income guidelines to participate.
The Southwestern Commission administers the CDBG programs
for Cherokee, Graham and Swain Counties.
To obtain an application for the program
in Cherokee or Graham counties,

For information in Swain County,
call Tom Tyre at 586.1962, ext. 208.
For information about programs in Macon, Jackson, or Haywood
counties,
call the local county administration offices.
