The Haywood County JobLink Career Center System provides the following services for individuals seeking employment, education and/or training:
- Orientation to the JobLink System
- Assessments—Career, Interest, Aptitude
- Eligibility Information for services for all partner employment and training programs
- Job Search Assistance
- Local, Regional, and Statewide Labor Marker Information
- Information on Financial Aid
- Unemployment Insurance
- Orientation to personal computers for access to self-directed services such as Internet access and resume software.
- Assistance with preparing a resume
Job Search Assistance
There are a number of job listings available to you at JobLink (and at home if you have access to a computer and the Internet).
Job Seeker Resource Room
If you are familiar with Microsoft Windows and know how to use a keyboard and mouse you can use the PC’s in our Resource Room for job related purposes.
- Look for job leads
- Prepare resumes and cover letters
- Fax and telephone for job related use
Career Planning
Job Link staff can assist you with Career Planning. The three stages of career planning are:
- Self Assessment
- Career Exploration
- Job Search
Career Development
Career Development is obtaining the training and skills required to work in your chosen occupation. Financial assistance for training is available for eligible dislocated workers, adults, and youth through the Workforce Investment Act (WIA program). This funding covers the cost of classes, tuition and books for short and long term training.
