Jackson County JobLink Partner Agencies

The success of the Jackson County JobLink Career Center System comes from the cooperation and commitment of the partners involved. Combining the many resources for job seekers and employers under one roof insures that these services are provided efficiently and effectively. Listed below are the JobLink Partners and the specific services they provide and their schedule in the JobLink.

Employment Security Commission

Employment Security Commission is the host agency for the JobLink Career Center in Jackson County. The ESC offers all of its services to customers at the Macon County JobLink Career Center. Services provided include but are not limited to job referral and placement, job development, unemployment insurance, resume preparation assistance, veterans employment services, employer technical services, labor market information, TAA, ATAA, and HCTC services.


Southwestern Community College

Southwestern Community College provides resume preparation assistance at the JobLink Career Center. Additionally, classes in Job Interviewing Skills, GED preparation, and other Human Resource Development classes are available.

NC Vocational Rehabilitation Services

Vocational Rehabilitation provides training such as work adjustment training, supported employment training, vocational and trade school training, college training (community college and university) and on-the-job training. To businesses across North Carolina, VR is a reliable source of trained applicants. VR has helped thousands of employers reduce the dollars and time they spend on hiring.  Counselors, evaluators, job placement specialists and engineers provide follow-up services and customized consultation. 

Jackson County Department of Social Services
Employment and Training services for Work First clients and food stamp applicants.

Southwestern Commission
Monitoring and oversight of WIA programs, JobLink Center Chartering, and provides JobLink Enhancement funds as directed by the Workforce Development Board.

N.C. Division of Services for the Blind
Rehabilitative services for the blind, visually impaired, deaf-blind, or multi-handicapped. Guidance and counseling, vocational training, adjustment to blindness, adaptive technology, supported employment, job placement assistance, independent living services.

Job Corps
Job Corps is a no-cost education and vocational training program administered by the U.S. Department of Labor that helps young people ages 16 through 24 get a better job, make more money, and take control of their lives. Program Eligibility and job placement services available at the JobLink.

Mountain Projects
Community Action Agency providing human service programs. Contracted to provided WIA Adult and Youth Programs and case management. Staff can provide information and eligibility information for other agency programs including HUD, Head Start, Haywood Public Transit, Senior Companion Program, Foster Grandparents Program and VISTA.

Area Agency on Aging
Older Worker Program--State of Franklin provides part-time community service training and promotes transition to unsubsidized employment for persons 55 years of age and older. Senior Aides Program--part time staff for reception/greeting and customer assistance.
