Resources for Starting a Small Business - online destination for new and existing small and medium sized business with a particular slant towards those that maintain a office home, and home-based businesses. Features include a continually growing library of articles and reference material.

The Small Business Financial Resource Guide -- a guide to the resources and types of financing your business will need.

America’s Business Funding Directory – This is a free database of funding sources that searches over 3,600 sources of capital. The site also has step-by-step manuals that instruct you on how to prepare and present a successful funding request.

Sample Business Plans – This site promotes a software produce but there are free sample business plans for all types of businesses. There is also a question and answer section.

Business Plan Guide – On-line Business Plan Guide from Southwestern Community College’s Small Business Center

Job Description Writer - Use the keyword search to identify your occupation. Enter as much information about the job listing as you wish. This can include the location of the job, any education, training, or licenses required, and the wage offered. You can include statements from lists of tasks and knowledges from O*NET in your job description.

A final job description containing the job title, job location information, tasks and required or preferred knowledge is produced. You can copy it to diskette or your hard-drive for further development.

Sample Business Letters - This site contains samples of 491 business letters—everything from “Acceptance of Resignation Letter to Verification of Employment Letter.

NC Small Business and Technology Development Center - The North Carolina Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC) helps small business owners (and those interested in starting a business) meet the challenges of today's business environment, manage that ever-changing world, and plan for the future of their business. We do this by providing management counseling and educational services to small and mid-sized businesses throughout North Carolina from our 17 offices across the state — each affiliated with a college or university. Our mission is to help North Carolina businesses grow and create new jobs within the state. Most of our services are free of charge, and all SBTDC services are confidential.

EASI Demographics – provides demographic estimates of areas surrounding a user defined address. Access is free but you must register first.
