Southwestern Workforce Development Board is a business-led
board that is charged with creating a world class workforce in
Southwestern North Carolina. The area's JobLink Centers are the
service provider for Employers and Jobseekers in the region.

Workforce Investment Act Basics
Southwestern Workforce Development Board charters JobLInk Centers to provide services to jobseekers and employers.

The purpose of the JobLink Centers are to create a highly skilled and motivated workforce and to promote economic growth of the region.

The Workforce Board promotes economic growth by providing services to employers such as
· an employer resource room located in the JobLink Career Centers
· labor market information
· human resource expertise.
   
The Workforce Board promotes a trained workforce by:
· providing basic and intensive services to individuals looking for work
· providing access, funding and/or referral for training for those who need training to obtain and retain employment
· providing assessment and technology for career development
